The Governor's Palace

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.  Clicking a second time will make it full-sized.)

There are some advantages to visiting Colonial Williamsburg in September.  The crowds are definitely thinner, and that beautiful blue sky above the Governor's Palace is a definite bonus.

Stunning skies, George. My parents, John and I visited Williamsburg many years ago. Your photos bring to mind just how precious that time together was.

I'd say that is the perfect time to visit....who likes crowds? {Pick-pocketers!} :)
Gorgeous sky for sure.

That is definitely a true, blue sky . So vivid and bright. The mansion is rather different.

I appreciate this type of architecture for the simplicity and symmetry even though it's a grand house. A perfect blue sky to show it off.

Sure is a treat to have such blue skies.
We will stay mostly cloudy although we do have the sun peeking out once in a while.

Viva, GEORGE!
Cá estou de novo a saudá-lo e ao mesmo tempo apreciar a foto dum encantador palácio, que contrasta e se recorta num maravilhoso céu azulinho.

A beautiful place---a mansion it is. Look at all the brickwork. What are those side buildings? MB

You're right, that sky is great! I've been to Williamsburg but not recently.

Nearby Jamestown is partly open. The national park portion is closed for the shutdown but the section owned by Preservation Virginia is open.

Wow! Does the governor live in a Palace? That's a bonus. The building is awesome looking.

Thank you so much George for explaining to me about this Governor's house. Thank you again for the kind condolence message too.

If Asian funerals do interest your curiosity, you might like to read about the recent funeral of my uncle in Thailand. However, he belonged to the upper class aristocrats so his funeral was different.
