The Sinks is a very popular spot in the summer, since there is a swimming hole just below this little drop. But I captured this photo on a January visit to the Smokies when Betsy and I had The Sinks to ourselves.

What a fantastic picture... I love the Smokies ---everything about it including the Sinks... That photo is marvelous especially when I made it full-screen.. WOW.... AWESOME.
Love,
Wifey
I'm glad for the reminder that we can enlarge the picture by clicking on it. Your photos are worth a good, slow look. It must be very rewarding to visit places like this and "soak up" the scenery.
A magnificent photo--would make a wonderful painting! Lovely artistic textures, lights & shadows!
The rocks look slippery. I would slid right into swimming hole. I have a fear of water so never learned to swim.
Very cool shot. Interesting rocks. MB
How lovely to have it to yourself but I am sure you did not have a dip!!!
Had hoped to be enjoying some nature shots myself after hubby retired. Since that hasn't happened, it's nice to see your shots, with hopes to be able to take my own someday.
This is very dramatic! Do a lot of people sink there? Or does it resemble a sink when calm?
P.S. Yes, I agree with Betsy. I had enlarged it, and that is the only way to look, it is fabulous!
Always nice to have these kinds of great places to ourselves.
Great photo, George!
You and Betsy are surrounded by so much beautiful terrain.
Wonderful shot of the place.
i wish i could hear the water. i bet it is just great sounding. ( :
I always find myself wishing that the sound of that water could be embedded in the photo.Love this shot.
A wonderful photo of the turbulent water rushing through the gaps in those huge slabs of rock and good that you were able to take photos during a quiet time. It must be a popular place to visit during some months of the year.
Everyone should make it full-sized, once they do it feels like you are right there watching the water flow down the rocks!

A cool place to chill in summer... So fresh and beautiful flow.
I love to look at the falling water and the noise. Nice pictures. Regards.
Really pretty, George. One of my 2015 projects is to take better photos of waterfalls. :)
Great photo and looks even better enlarged!!
Nice picture. Nice place to enjoy and spend time in leisure.
Looks and sounds like a great place to play with a camera. What a bonus that you and Betsy had the place to yourselves.
I would love to visit your neck of the woods sometime. A lovely winter photo!
Great pic.
Oh that does look refreshing and I can almost feel water air. We've had five inches of snow off and on all week and snow flurries all day today with below 30 temps so any warmth I can imagine is good.
Lovely shot George!
Hope Betsy is continuing well with her recovery.
That's a neat place, George. You and Betsy really are living out my dreams of traveling after retirement. I cannot wait! I've added several of your "spots" to my growing list of places to see.
Gosh George, you sure do have some nice places in the Smokies.
Wish I could visit some places like that. I'd probably put up a tent and stay there lol
Excelente foto de uma paisagem que é uma verdadeira pintura fotográfica.
Parabéns, George!
Lovely image! I guess nobody was in there swimming.
fantastic shot! i'd love to visit the smokies sometime...
What a stunning photo! Beautiful scene.
Awesome shot, George! Sounds like a popular spot..I love the Smokies.
Lovely...
I live near a falls like this in Lochlin, Ont, Canada.
Beautiful too.
Love your mountain photography! I'm guessing you skipped the swimming when taking this shot.
