Virginia's Natural Bridge

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.)

Virginia's Natural Bridge is about 20 stories high and is quite a sight to see. It is also associated with two of our Founding Fathers. Legend says that George Washington surveyed the Natural Bridge in 1750 and Thomas Jefferson purchased 157 acres of land including the Natural Bridge from King George III of England in 1774.

20 storeys high, Wow!

This past year, I went to one in New Zealand and one in Australia.

The one in NEw Zealand is over a river.

Thanks about the Lock. Yes, it is sort of private. The lock separates the sea with a private lake. There is no commercial boats inside the lake. I was lucky I was visiting a man made lake. Too many jet skis though. Kids of the rich and famous. Can be quite dangerous.

Have a great weekend.

whoaaa!! Awesome!!

It is better than a man made tunnel. The top potion seem to be quite thin like a concrete slab.

I wonder how this was created?

We live very close to Natural Bridge, and have been there. Did you go in the Museum and other attractions there? There's lots more than just the wonderful bridge. They have The Last Supper Drama, too. A great picture of it!!

And I learned something new today about our nations history. Who says Old Geezers can't learn new tricks?

Wow! Where is this exactly George? Mark and I are driving down to VA to see where he used to live while stationed in the Navy. He is anxious to see some of his favorite places!

I've been trying to catch up on reading some of your posts that I've missed George. I had to comment on this one.
My Hubs took me here years ago when we first moved to Virginia and I think I was only there one other time. I really need to go back.
You captured it beautifully!
