Beehive Geyser
(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it. Clicking a second time will make it full-sized.)
Betsy and I were fortunate enough to see the eruption of several geysers while visiting Yellowstone, including four different eruptions of Old Faithful. One of the first eruptions we saw was this display by Beehive Geyser. We both thought the plume was gorgeous against that brilliant blue sky.

thar she blows!!! love it
People do dwarf beside these spouting geysers!! Great shot - love the contrast!
It was gorgeous. I've been fascinated by Yellowstone and returned there many times after my parents first took me there in 1955.
Wow! Just wow!!
I do agree with you that the plume was gorgeous against the brilliant blue sky.
I have not been back to Yellowstone since I was a kid in the 60 's. You had a beautiful sky to be in your background.
WOW! That shoots very far into the air!
That was one of my favorites too....and not just because of the name beehive. Ok, maybe it was the name. :)
Can't help wondering what effect that would have on a hairdo.
Nice one George, we hope to see these next year in Iceland.
Great capture, George. Everything was working for you...the brilliant blue sky, the wind blowing the steam in the right direction, and that ranger that alerted you to the pending eruption. :)
Beautiful light and color, excellent and exquisite picture. Wonderful geyser.
spectacular!
happy halloween!
That is so cool!
I've been there too.
It doesn't get much better than that. The blue sky is a perfect backdrop.
Nice shot George. I visited Mt. Lassen Volcanic National Park on my vacation but the steam vents there didn't make geysers like this, just some steam.
So cool. Did you have a chance to test the waters to see how hot it was?
Awesome, George!
Whoa! This is so fantastic! I can see people there so near to it. How thrilling!
Wow...that is GREAT...The power of Nature!...
Awesome shot on the great natural fountain! Amazing!
So incredible!!!
Marvelous!!!!!!
Warm hug and flowers.
That's quite a fountain! Awesome shot. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the weekend. It's supposed to hit the mid 80's here in SF Bay Area! Crazy!
great shot...
thanks for sharing...
Don't know if I've ever seen skies quite that blue.
Beautiful George!
I remember going to that geyser. You managed to get a great picture of it.
I've seen tv documentaries about these geysers. I must be thrilling to wait and then see one erupt and catch it on camera.
Very spectacular, George! I have never seen a geyser in reality! But I should like to see one too. Thanks for sharing.
Hi George, first time I see geysers. Very spectacular click, excellent!!

Have a nice week ahead.
Beautiful capture against the blue sky, George. Seeing the geysers erupt is always thrilling.
