Last night's full moon was a Full Pink Moon. Pink, or wild phlox, is one of the earliest flowers of spring. Native American coastal tribes called this full moon the Full Fish Moon, since the shad came upstream to spawn at this time.
I'm glad 'Pink' doesn't refer to the color of the moon, as I thought it was more golden than pink.

Beautiful moon shot, George!
We came back late from Wisconsin last night and saw it all the way home. Spectacular!
i stared hard at the moon trying to see why it is called pink moon, did not see pink but your photo sure shows it. beautiful shot
Lovely shot of the moon.
Wonderful shot!!
Excellent shot George!
You always do so good on the "golden" moon shots. It was pretty here last night, but my little camera just does not capture it very well.
Oh, I see, pink is actually not pink.
It was a beautiful moon and you got an excellent shot. thanks for the info too. MB
I didn't see the moon last night so thank you for sharing and for the information about its name.
Nice capture George.
Hello!
Fantastic picture. Full moon makes I can not sleep.
For me, it is very tiring. In the night I sit and read a book.
You and Betsy have a nice weekend.
Regards
Lucia
We have been also enjoying the full moon here in Iowa. I really like the photo of your pink moon and the tulips look great too.
Beautiful! That moon was very bright last night, but definitely not pink. :)
Uma bela foto e uma metáfora lendária [da Lua Cheia Rosa], que muito gostei de ler e saber.
very beautiful shot of the full moon!
great work!
Perfect shot! The moon is so gorgeous when it's full!
What a beautiful moon... you captured it perfectly!
Good results !
Wow! Great info and great capture.
Thank you, George!! Because I missed it this month, way too busy. And your shot even makes it look peach colored, so I can really say it is just peachy.
Great photo of the moon!!
I too was moon-gazing Thursday night and tried for a good pic, but too many tree limbs in the way. It was luminous and golden, just like your photo, George. Beautiful.
Your moon is a wonderful sight to see George. Thanks for sharing and have a great week :)
Outstanding, George!

Great shot! I could go with pinkish gold for the color.
Golden it is; gorgeous!
Beautiful!
And thanks for the background info, I enjoy learning facts like these.
I've not seen a pink moon like this before. Great capture and facts George.
Beautiful capture...
Great shot, George, especially when enlarged.
No wild phlox blooming here yet, unfortunately. :)
That is just gorgeous George and not an easy shot to get at all! I love it.
Excellent picture! I like the name Full Fish Moon.
You share marvelous shots of the moon, George. It is nice to live in the woods again where the moon/stars show up well!
When you say "full pink moon," I think of my little grandson, who liked to remove his diapers and roam freely, au naturale. Your photograph is more appropriate than my mental picture.
My hubby was sure the moon was going to be pink. We did have some haze, and it was lovely, though!
