Many places in the Smokies are easily-accessible by car, which means they are very popular during tourist season (which seems to be year-round nowadays). The Sinks is one such place: it’s a cascade with a pool right along the road. The parking area is small, so it’s hard to get into it at times But January, which is when I got this picture, can be a good time to visit if you just want to enjoy the beauty of our world.

I need to get up that way when I can catch better weather.
Sigh.
It is gorgeous and I am guessing you went on a not very cold day. Right now January here has been mighty windy, snowy and very cold.
Wow! Looks like I will have to pack my bags and head that way asap😊
Thanks a lot for sharing this, George!
Have a great week ahead😊
What a beautiful capture, George. We were there once when kayakers were going over the falls and into the pool below. Fun to watch. Not interested in doing. :)
Terrific picture of the Sinks... Every single time we go there, it looks different from another time, due to the water levels...
Love, Wifey
Right by the road, this would be for me!! What's with the name? Is it because the pools resemble a full sink?
Lovely picture. You live in an area that has so much beauty.
Excellent shot!
Your area is full of such beauty...thank you for sharing it, George
It is SO very pretty!!!
Very beautiful George
Really a wonderful place to relax watching the rushing cascade and you got a beautiful shot.
I love looking at the falling water, and in your photo it looks beautiful. Greetings.
Que bela imagem!

Hi George, have been side tracked and hadn't been blogging for a few year. I'm trying to get back into the swing of things again. I came to check out your photos, and am pleased to see you are still out and about, sharing these special places with all of us! Best wishes!
look great. thank you for sharing
I do not like winter time ever. It is a grand winter wonderland, but I am too cold natured for it.
It look amazing but also scary too. The rocks and water seems so fierce
