Evening in the Mountains

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.)

One thing about the mountains is that the scenery is constantly changing, but always beautiful. This evening scene was captured near Franklin, North Carolina, back in May, 2009. I like the subtle colors of the evening sky as well as the fog rising in the valley below.

I love to sit and watch the evening sky in our back yard, of course we have not mountains but it is so peaceful and good to look at. this photo gives that feeling of peace when I look at it. it has a smokey look to the background that i like.

I would love to see a sight like that today. No spring or pretty skies here. We got more snow and very cold last night. I am not sure if we will even have a spring this year.

The world looks so similar in some of corners in our neighbourhood.

I have seen this at Cerok Tokun.

A barely pink sky, and fog at twilight, how unusual and delightful!

Love the header photo! What a gorgeous sunset, so soft looking as the day says good-bye.

Beautiful shot, with the clouds held in the bowl of the hills.

The mountains have lively conversations with the sky. Utterly amazing.

You are right about that, George. The mountains look different with every change in the sun and shadows. I especially love the sunrise and twilight time.

Makes me wonder if James Taylor had just this kind of scene in mind when he wrote - 'going to Carolina in my mind'!
Beautiful George!

When mists hover just so it makes walking through the woods so spooky and exciting because you never know who or what you will bump into next.
I wouldn't do it cause I am a big fat chicken lol But to stand atop and look at it, is splendid!:)
