Mardi Gras Tulip

We're being threatened with a return of winter, but the weather has been warm for several days and tulips are beginning to bloom. The tulip above, Mardi Gras, is in our side flower bed and is about to open. We hope this and other flowers survive Monday night's promised cold weather.

It is beautiful, I hope it makes it. We are to have a freeze. Year before last had one and the apple trees had bloomed and no apples. So far they are budding, but not bloomed so maybe.......

Just beautiful....I will do an "anit-winter" indian dance for you guys. It is similar to the rain dance...but kinda backwards. ;)

George: Great colors on the fancy tulip, they are pretty cold tolerant.

Pretty, pretty tulip and a real nice photo of it. We're having a great weekend here in Virginia, nice and sunny but rain is on the way.

I hope they survive too. It would be a shame if these pretty tulips didn't make it. Nice shot.
