Mardi Gras Tulip



The picture above shows a Mardi Gras tulip after it has opened on a bright, sunny day here in the Glade.

It's even prettier now! And normally, I like tulips better when they're still closed. That red pattern is amazing and it looks even more pronounced now than in your earlier photo.

You know, I only saw open tulips last year! They're not natural to the Philippines and all the pics I've seen were of flowers that haven't fully opened. I didn't recognize the open flower at all.
