Pigpen Falls
(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it. Clicking a second time will make it full-sized.)
This pretty little waterfall doesn't have a very appealing name, but we found it after a nice hike through the woods along the Chattooga Trail near Walhalla, South Carolina.
Hmmm I wonder why this is called pigpen, I am thinking this might be close to a pigpen? ^_^ Nevertheless, this is very pretty falls. thanks for sharing and happy weekend.
Did you see any pigs around? Surely they could have given it a better name than that!!! Maybe the locals started calling it that and it just stuck. Must have been near pigpens at one time.

You and Betsy sure have great romantic times. ITs a great place to visit.:)
The name is certainly unique, but the falls are very pretty.
What a strange name for a waterfall! It's beautiful, though, in spite of the name.
Waterfalls are pretty and interesting whether they have a name or not.
A really pretty waterfall.
Just looking at all that trickling water makes me want to run to the bathroom!!!
I love, a beautiful waterfall.

Kay

Loved!
Hugs.
Beautiful little waterfall, but why in the world did someone name it Pigpen Falls!!!!! Have a great weekend. Mickie ;)
i've always loved waterfalls and your picture is wonderfully captured.
Refreshing and the name is unique "Pigpen Falls"...
any idea why it is called pigpens?
Right now, Sow pens are unpopular, and many people want them banned.
American pork imported to NZ is cheaper than local pigs.
It is beautiful. And no matter how hard I try, I can't find that little kid from peanuts in there anywhere. :)
An interesting name, that leads to a wild imagination.
Waterfalls are really subjects for photography...
Your photos are fabulous. But this is funny, Pig Pen Falls!
Cheers from Cottage Country!
Makes me wonder how it got its name! :)
