Pigpen Falls

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it. Clicking a second time will make it full-sized.)

This pretty little waterfall doesn't have a very appealing name, but we found it after a nice hike through the woods along the Chattooga Trail near Walhalla, South Carolina.

Beautiful water falls.

Did you see any pigs around? Surely they could have given it a better name than that!!! Maybe the locals started calling it that and it just stuck. Must have been near pigpens at one time.

What a strange name for a waterfall! It's beautiful, though, in spite of the name.

any idea why it is called pigpens?

Right now, Sow pens are unpopular, and many people want them banned.

American pork imported to NZ is cheaper than local pigs.

It is beautiful. And no matter how hard I try, I can't find that little kid from peanuts in there anywhere. :)
