Fairfield Glade was in the path of totality during the eclipse on August 21, 2017, and Betsy and I were really looking forward to experiencing a total eclipse from our own yard. The only potential problem was that cloudy skies were expected to move in at about the time the eclipse was to reach totality.
One of the things we were told to look for was the ‘diamond ring’ that occurs when the sun starts to reappear from behind the moon. The clouds came as expected as you can see in the photo above, but if you use your imagination you can also see a diamond ring.

Not much imagination required here. You did a fabulous job with this shot!
Wow! Absolutely brilliant shot and timing with the diamond ring - which is apparent.
Congrats George

Another master piece. We could not see much in Texas. This is definitely a diamond ring in the sky,
Amazing capture. Yes,the diamond ring is easy to see.
I thought it was a ring until I remembered that you'd be near the totality shadow.
It happened before the clouds covered it, YEAH!! Wow, this is a perfect and perfectly impressive picture!! I bet you needed tons of set-up and special equipment, but it was really worth it!! Of course I see the ring!
Wow!! you got to see the corona!!! Luck you...

Stunning!!! Really cool!
You did capture a wonderful memory. We didn't get that total eclipse so the diamond almost looked like a full sized sun. You needed special lens to see that it was 93 percent covered.
Oh, that is a fabulous shot!
gorgeous header shot!! awesome. love this one too. take care. ( ;
That is an amazing picture, Your photographic talents shine through once again...:)
george
wonderful snap :)
Wow! You did a great job of capturing the diamond ring, George. We had a 95% eclipse at our house. No totality, darn it.
