Fairfield Glade is in the zone of totality for the solar eclipse on August 21, so we’re all hoping for clear weather on that day. I’ve been practicing getting photos of the sun in preparation for the big day. I don’t have a lens long enough to get any details on the surface of the sun, but I’m hoping I’ll be able to get some sharp pictures as the moon passes between earth and the sun. The picture above is my latest attempt to get a clear picture of the sun.

Fabulous shot Geproge
Hi George, excellent picture. Wish you good luck, looking forward to admire your solar eclipse pictures.
Have a nice day, regards.
Amelia
Beautiful moon shot. I will look forward to your eclipse photos.
Happy Wednesday, enjoy your day!
That's a gorgeous shot, George. Care to share the details of how you captured it? Special filter? Camera settings? I'll be looking forward to your captures of the eclipse. Doug and I are in the middle of our cataract surgeries and won't be able to get down there for the actual event. Here, we'll see only about 80% coverage of the sun.
Good luck in your shooting. We'll be in Kansas City for the same event...:)
Such an exciting upcoming event.....So glad some of our kids will be coming here to be with us for this special historical occasion.... I'm already EXCITED....
This picture is TERRIFIC....Glad you have been practicing for the big event.... I'm sure that your pictures will come out GREAT on the 21st.
Love,
Wifey
The picture looks perfect! Hope to see solar eclipse photos from you :)

It is very good George!! Can you burn your lens out, is it dangerous? I can hardly wait for your pictures, I know they will be spectacular!!

Great photo! Sadly I wasn't able to see it here in Germany, but my two olders sons drove to S.C. and were able to see it !
A lovely photo but my comment comes after thatbevent. Sadly your family was struck by the loss of a loved on on the 13Th. My deepest condolances to you and the family. Betsy is very fortunate to have you by her side at this unfortunate and sudden loss. My prayers are sent your way.
This is beautiful.
