Dry Falls in Winter

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.)

I had hoped that we were through with snow and ice for the year, but on Tuesday Betsy and I went over the mountains at Newfound Gap in the Smokies and saw a foot or more of snow still on the ground.

That experience reminded me of a visit to Dry Falls in North Carolina that we made in December 2009. There was obviously plenty of ice around that day.

A water fall can be in different shapes in diffrent seasons. Wow, how wonderful it is.

The seasons certainly don't stop you getting out and about and enjoying the scenery. I enjoy seeing how folk get pleasure from what the natural world has to offer. Thankyou and keep up the good work.

Water and ice both! That does look like a wild fall. Wonder why they call it dry falls? It looks plenty wet to me! Perhaps it dries up at times!
