Winter Hiking

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.)

Winter is a wonderful time to go waterfalling. The rains of autumn usually do a good job of renewing the water flow and it's easier to find waterfalls that require bushwhacking when the leaves are off the trees. This picture of me with my favorite hiking partner was taken at a waterfall near Brevard, North Carolina, this past December. (I carry a small tripod in my backpack). This particular waterfall was near the trail and the rails on a bridge over the creek provided us with a place to rest and get this picture.

I hope to bring my tripod during hiking, but it seems to be impossible due to the weight.

Yes I agree with Rianfield, for some hikes, smaller your gadgets better the journey :)

What a great photo of the two of you! I wish you a lot of hiking together! Thanks for your visit to my foggy Guernsey beach. That fog came suddenly and in only 10 minutes it covered the whole beach and suddenly it felt cold.

Seeing pictures of the two of you together, makes my heart sing.
The biggest smiles, the closeness, it's obvious to the viewer you are both madly in love with each other.
The waterfalls are not bad to look at either ;)

Such a cute couple! :)
I've been going through some old photos like you had been doing George and yesterday my hubby found a pic of him and I at a beach about five years ago. We held the camera to get a shot of us both. Guess I should invest in a small tripod. :)

I am glad you are always prepared for any great sight you might see. That is a wonderful picture of you two. If I do not take my "digital" with me everywhere, I will always see something to take. I never leave home without it now.
