Smoky Mountains

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.)

One nice thing about living in East Tennessee is that it is still relatively easy to get away from 'civilization' and enjoy the beauties of Nature. The picture above was taken in a quiet part of the Smoky Mountains here in Tennessee.

Fantastic landscape George, you are lucky to live there. I know what you mean about being able to escape. Although our country is small we are fortunate to be able to find lots of quiet places too as you will have seen in my blogs. Looking forward to more of your shots.

seems to go on forever..

Here in BC because of the weather, North Vancouver has mountain lions and bears visitng rural areas which is becoming disturbing. Mount Seymore is a great place to ski on and visit.
In Winter the kids go hiking and spend nights in the snow caves they either make or find up there. Now everyone has to be very careful.

that picture looks great. The name "Smoky mountains" refers to lush green trees, while here in our country, it is used to refer to a garbage dumped area....!

What a big difference!
