Zion's Virgin River
(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it. Clicking a second time will make it full-sized.)
Zion Canyon in Utah was carved out by the Virgin River over the millions of years. When we visited Zion National Park in June, the river looked quiet and dreamy -- not at all like something that could form that deep and majestic canyon. This picture of the river was taken on the Riverside Walk along the river near the head of canyon.

Nice flow captured.
I love how you captured the flow of the water along the river.
Beautiful photo, George.
be well and happy,
Pam
Beautiful shot of a beautiful place!
did you see the small cave at lower right? this is really pretty. a perfect hole for a small critter to hide in, or maybe a SNAKE
I would love to stand here today and hear the water as it runs by.
real nice shot George.
The water almost looks like silk. And it is such a pretty color. It looks like it would be safe to drink, but since it is a river, probably not. Sandra has a sharp eye!!!
you really find good places to take such beautiful shots! :)
WOW!!! That's pretty.
really exquisite shot!
great colours and composition!
love it!
I love pictures of water. So calming.
Oh, George - - that is gorgeous. It looks like something that should be framed or on a calendar!
Wow for a river to carved a canyon is something else. Thanks for sharing George and happy weekend!

I would like to be part of the beautiful flow.
So dreamy..
Wonderful picture George. Barb and I absolutely have to visit those Utah National Parks next year...
Lovely place to relax. I want a place like this :)
Stunning! Makes one wish to live near running water like that just to hear the peaceful sounds it makes.
One of the places I like to be... how magnificent picture, Sir!
Have a great week.
Warm hug.
Much goes into the making of a river. Your photo captures it beautifully.
Beautiful waterfall ...
It looks so peaceful there. I bet the cold water on bare feet and the sounds of the birds could keep one there for hours!
We drove through there once at dusk. I wish we had time to explore it. I just ran into a recent college graduate who got a job out there leading tours. I'd love to go back.
Beautiful and spectacular picture, I like.
I'm so glad I enlarged this photo, otherwise, I would have missed all the details. Like the hollow in the rock and the little stack of four rocks at bottom center. Great capture of the water flow, George!
