A Smokies Panorama

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.  Clicking a second time will make it full-sized.)

If you've visited here very often, you know that we think the Smoky Mountains are pretty special.  We enjoy visiting them in all seasons.  We also enjoy taking photographs of all that beauty, but a picture really doesn't do a good job of capturing all that beauty.  I've been experimenting with panoramas, hoping that they might do a better job of conveying the beauty of the mountains and sky.

This is my first attempt at creating a panorama.  I shot the three photos that make it up on the Foothills Parkway in late October.

This is beautiful, George. I love the autumn foliage against the blue sky and those smaller 3D clouds.

You did an excellent job because it does give the depth and even the "curve" of the view. I LOVE the Smokeys, too. I grew up in the Catskills and Adirondacks of NY and these feel like home.

It is gorgeous, George! Did you have to stitch it together or did you take it all in one shot?

Some views just demand a panorama shot, don't they? This one is memorable.
