Fall Branch Falls

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.  Clicking a second time will make it full-sized.)

Betsy and I think February is a pretty good month for hiking to waterfalls.  The weather is usually fairly mild, and the water flow is generally pretty good.  We hiked to Fall Branch Falls in Georgia last February.

Pretty shot, George. When I was in jr. college in Cleveland GA (near Helen) we would often have ice storms in Feb. and as young NUTS, we would get out and hike to waterfalls! I could not do it now, but I do cherish the memories in my mind's eye!

Good shot, George! All the creeks around here have to be full at this time. I might try a hike in the mtns soon.

Yes, interesting, I like the composition you've created with this waterfall.

The swing and sway of those falls are almost musical.
They look very pretty coming down this interesting slope

I like the width of the rocks - - makes a pretty backdrop for the water. Which month do you think is the rainiest month for hiking? I remember you all had a few of those last year.

Were you experimenting with your new camera lens, George? Seem to remember some fabulous water shots that you and Betsy were getting last year. This fall is more interesting and exciting because of the asymetrical path that the water takes. Nature does like to surprise us, doesn't she? :-)

How nice to hear someone speak so well about February, George. Very refreshing. I too like February, even though waterfalls are not the reason here. :)) (I love to photograph ice and snow.)

Beautiful capture! The dry leaves around gives a distinct tone.

I like how it seems to snake through the woods.
I little more water and it would be a natural bumpy water slide. :)
This one was well worth enlarging!

I often wonder where you are standing when you take waterfall photos. You look as if you are near the water, but I'm sure you have a zoom lens, I like the way the water flows from a distance over the rocks in the wood.

I think it's so super that you both enjoy water falls so much. If only I had more determination to get out these days!
