From My Archives: The Niagara River
(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it. Clicking a second time will make it full-sized.)
This picture of the Niagara River was taken from the bridge leading to Goat Island in New York's Niagara Falls State Park. The view is looking down river toward the brink of the American Falls.

rushing water is hard to capture with the camera, you did a great job on this one.
Love Niagara Falls! We went there one winter - not exactly what you would think of a prime waterfall visiting time. But it was wonderful! The ice formations were incredible!
It sure is a wild river at this point. I wouldn't want to be caught there in a boat, like some have in the past.
Beautiful photo, George!
Did you hear that just last week a 20-year-old woman was sitting on a railing and somehow fell over the falls? Very sad!
Did you go over the top in a barrel George??
Great shot my friend.
that looks captivating. i'd love to visit Niagara Falls someday.
The water looks wild, clean, and fresh.
George, I love the aqua-blue waters trimmed with white foam! Beautiful.
Love the Niagara shot! George, we were traveling and I was taking those pics out of my car window on about June 7th. Could we have been sharing the road together? It was so sad about the fires here, and thankfully they are well-contained, and of course now we are in the monsoon season so plenty of rain...and now I am hearing that once again The Dismal Swamp back home is on fire. It always takes so much to0 contain the swamp fires because the peat burns underground.
I really need to get back there someday. I don't remember the water being this beautiful! But then again I had two youngsters and was probably keeping track of where they were every minute. :)
Lovely shot!
It's just beautiful!
How good is it if you have set the shutter speed to slower?
That's a lot of white water. Looks like a beautiful place.
Love the color of the water. Fantastic capture.
in 1976, I drove from Canadian side of Niagara falls to the US side. The falls didn't seem big until we saw the tiny boats. Then It was BIG.
This is so beautiful and lovely !! This is fantastic !!

você pode amar sem medo.
Bjs no seu coração,Evanir.
Levando um pouco de você.
E deixando um poco de Mim.
Nice shot, excellent perspective with the wild water of this mighty river.
Scary I'd say. Especially with that huge falls just downstream.
A trip to Niagara always produces some great photo opportunities, such a lovely place (if you can see past all those tourists)! Sadly a young Japanese girl went over the falls last week.... trying to take a pic while straddling the fence above the water.... so silly.
George I love the sound of the rushing water. We visit that area almost yearly because there's always someting new as well as old to enjoy. You sure captured its intenseity in a still photo. An idea just came to me ; capture the sound and action on the rebel next time we go. Now If Only I remember.
Ah, that beautiful, busy water! Love it, George!
I wonder if its deep there
It seems to run fast
It amazes me how close you can get to that river. I grew up in Buffalo... and I think back to when as teens we would sit with our feet in the river. Somehow knowing just a few hundred yards downriver the water was crashing over the falls was always a rush. Great shot!
