Flowers From Our Yard: Midas Touch Rose

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it. Clicking a second time will make it full-sized.)

I've spent almost every day for the past few weeks watering our roses. I don't particularly enjoy working in the hot sun, but roses like this make it all worth while. Midas Touch makes me feel 'there is gold in them thar hills!'.

The rose is worth it's name "Midas Touch". You have gold in exchange of the love you give to the flowers.

There are so many really cool names for roses. Sometimes you can see why they are named what they are.

Is this an adequate representation of the real color? WOW! I have never seen a rose this color, did you post it last year, I don't remember? LOVE the name!

There is gold in YAR yard!! :)
If you move your roses to my yard, they will have been naturally watered everyday for the last few weeks!

You and Betsy have green thumbs that is for certain and sure! I love being outside and yards (and farms) give me the right opportunities!

The payback for all that labor is sweet, George. You do have the Midas touch!

I am glad you have such a beauty left. They have us on strict watering, so nothing will live.

They certainly do make it all worth while!

You are a better man than I. Watering is definitely not my thing. I don't mind mowing, edging, trimming, pruning, clipping, shoveling... just not watering.

When I saw the color of the rose, my brain started singing "Yellow Rose of Texas" to me.
Our daughter and son-in-law set up soaker hoses on a timer for their gardens but it would be difficult for you all to mow the yard if you did that. Plus some of your stuff is in pots and the hose wouldn't work.
