Flowers From Our Yard: A July Surprise
(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.)
I never expected to have iris blooming in our yard in July, but Cantina opened this past Sunday. We noticed the flower stalk when we got back home last week. Although unexpected this time of year, I do like this blossom very much.

what a fantastic flower shot!!
i so enjoy seeing your flowers blooming in your backyard!
Yes, we never expect, but they show up.
That's why we have surprises, and fun.
That would be a suprise. I'm in the "its time to replant the iris bed" phase myself.
That is a beautiful surprise.
it really is a stunning flower, the color is so brilliant, and i did enlarge so i could see the ripples in the edges. gorgeous
With your green thumb, probably have all the flowers blooming year round.
Gorgeous bloom, George! Since you were gone on vacation - Shows you what can be done when we let nature take it's course.
She's welcoming you home!!!
Gardens are so full of the unexpected. It's just part of the joy!
Stunning! They are excited to welcome you home! :)
I just had to click on this one! It is glowing and it looks like silk. Gorgeous!!!
I like the clear definition of the petals and the background leaves a bit muted. It makes the flower "pop" - - like 3-D.
Real nice shot George.
Such a rich color!
What a nice surprise to have such a beautiful flower blooming when you returned home!
She looks so satine Like a real Queen.
Totally amazing! And it's such a pretty iris too.
Pretty indeed. ;)
Love.
Beautiful flower, great colors.
Beautiful flower.
Absolutely stunning!!
Cantina thought you deserved a beautiful 'Welcome Home'. What a heavenly color.. my Grandmoms favorite.
Thanks for sharing the beauty, George
